There are two versions of this famous snack: Khare Shankarpale (Salty) and Sweet Shankarpale (Sweet). The easiest way to differentiate them both is by their exterior - the savory Khare Shankarpali has a crispy and puffy texture, unlike Sweet Shankarpali, which has a somewhat hard non-puffy texture. Both the Sweet & Khare Shakarpale form a major part of the Diwali Faral!
